چکیده

The Switched-Resistor (S-R) technique is becoming more and interesting to implement low-voltage low-power active- RC filters with high tuning range front-end amplifiers for biomedical circuits systems. This approach exploits MOS switches driven by a duty-cycle-controlled clock signal achieve tunability of the equivalent resistance and, hence, time constant. Since S-R can be considered as linear periodically variant (LPTV) systems sampled outputs, we exploit theory adjoint (inter-reciprocal) network in order develop detailed model cyclostationary noise involved this kind circuits. proposed allows gain insight into different sources transfer functions involved, highlighting circuit parameters on which depends. Validation has been carried out comparing analytical results against periodic simulations referring commercial 130nm CMOS process. validation activity confirmed good accuracy provided some useful design guidelines optimize performance

Comments on "on resistor-induced thermal noise in linear circuits"

In a recent paper [1], Giannetti considered the thermal noise generated by a resistor R on a generic output port in any linear network. He reasoned that, because the contribution of the thermal noise of the resistor to the output noise of the circuit vanishes for both R! 0 and R ! 1, there should be a resistor value whose contribution to the output noise is maximal. In order to find that value,...

Cyclostationary Noise Analysis of Large RF Circuits with Multitone Excitations

This paper introduces a new, efficient technique for analyzing noise in large RF circuits subjected to true multitone excitations. Noise statistics in such circuits are time-varying, hence cyclostationary stochastic processes, characterized by harmonic power spectral densities (HPSD’s), are used to describe noise. HPSD’s are used to devise a harmonic-balance-based noise algorithm with the prope...

Analysis of 1=f Noise in Switched MOSFET Circuits

Analysis of 1 noise in MOSFET circuits is typically performed in the frequency domain using the standard stationary 1 noise model. Recent experimental results, however, have shown that the estimates using this model can be quite inaccurate especially for switched circuits. In the case of a periodically switched transistor, measured 1 noise power spectral density (psd) was shown to be significan...

A new linear-time harmonic balance algorithm for cyclostationary noise analysis in RF circuits

A new technique is presented for computing noise in nonlinear circuits. The method is based on a formulation that uses harmonic power spectral densities (HPSDs), using which a block-structured matrix relation between the second-order statistics of noise within a circuit is derived. The HPSD formulation is used to devise a harmonic-balance-based noise algorithm that requires O(nN logN ) time and...

Modeling and Simulation of Substrate Noise in Mixed-Signal Circuits Applied to a Special VCO

The mixed-signal circuits with both analog and digital blocks on a single chip have wide applications in communication and RF circuits. Integrating these two blocks can cause serious problems especially in applications requiring fast digital circuits and high performance analog blocks. Fast switching in digital blocks generates a noise which can be introduced to analog circuits by the common su...
